How shall we narrate our complex relationship with food during childhood, our evolving perception towards our bodies in adolescence, and the shifting nature of our familial connection in adulthood?
Language certainly possesses levels of inherent limitations.
In response to these limitations, The Shapes of Ours project endeavours to forge a new visual expression. Facilitated by a group of young international designers The Oranges, This initiative catalyses a shape-and-reshape game to explore memories and emotions in their current and past selves.
Each designer symbolically represents their identity with five different shapes, from which all participants used to create collages in response to chosen topics, derives from specific life stages. The game engenders profound relatedness and introspection among the designers while also serving as a muse for inspiration.
